Old school Italian deli with high quality food, a large Italian deli counter, and an extensive menu of Italian delights. The food is high quality and reasonably priced. Simple Italian dishes, soups, and sandwiches made with the finest ingredients available. I ordered the prosciutto caprese sandwich. It was perfection. The high-end prosciutto meshed perfectly with the fresh mozzarella and balsamic drizzle. The bread is obviously homemade, super fresh, and a treat by itself. Every bite left me wanting another quickly. A half sandwich is adequate. A full sandwich is generally too much. The place is situated awkwardly because of all the food displays and the service was slow. I will give them a pass on the service because the deli was very busy, the staff was friendly, and the food is so good.

We visited Guido's Chicago Meats & Deli this past Saturday with close friends, and it was an absolute hit with everyone. Between the four of us, we sampled a variety of dishes—including the calzones, lasagna, chicken alfredo, and tiramisu—and every item exceeded our expectations. The calzones were a standout: perfectly baked with a delightful combination of crispy and chewy textures. The filling was rich with oozy, melted cheese and packed with flavor. The accompanying marinara dipping sauce was equally impressive—vibrant, savory, and the ideal complement to the calzone. The lasagna was classic comfort food done right. It featured tender pasta layers, a hearty, cheesy meat sauce, and a deep, savory richness that made it hard to stop at just one bite. We also tried the chicken alfredo, which was creamy, well-seasoned, and generously portioned, and wrapped up our meal with the tiramisu, which offered a perfectly balanced finish, light, fluffy, and not overly sweet. All in all, Guido's delivered on every front: great food, warm, friendly atmosphere, and an inviting experience we’re already looking forward to repeating. UPDATE: We visited a second time and tried different menu items (Meatballs, Raviolis, Roast Beef Sandwich and Broasted Chicken). All were excellent.

To all of you who let me sleep on this spot I'm so mad at you HA! How in the world had I not been here before? It has all my favorites; antipasto, pizza, sandwiches, pasta...you name it. I am always down to drive anywhere to support a local spot and Guido's got it out of the park. We drove over on a whim from the west valley Tuesday for lunch. We walked in to a packed house with so many people waiting for tables. The place is small and holds maybe 50 seats inside. There are some tables outside as well, but it was a bit chilly outside so we opted to wait for an inside table. While we waited I took some time to look at all the items for sale from bread to pasta and sauce. It is a deli/meat spot as well with a walk up counter for to go orders etc. I was impressed with the smiles and hard work of all the employees we encountered. It was awesome to see the amount of regulars they seemed to know by name. There weee only two of us, but we'd watched so many food items delivered to other tables that we ordered so many things to try. We started with antipasto salad, but also ordered a sausage and pepperoni pizza, and two half sandwiches, one Italian and one hot sausage. Everything came out so quick and we nearly couldn't fit it all in the table ha ha. My favorite by far was the salad. The dressing alone was so flavorful and smelled heavenly. It was full of meat and crisp lettuce. Hot sub was just as good. Least fave was probably the Italian, but still good. Bread was good. Pizza had good amount of sauce and I loved that it was think crust. There was a good amount of toppings. We had to take some of the salad home because it was so huge as well as a pizza box . My only regret is not taking home a cannoli. I'll just have to come back. Our waiter was awesome. So friendly, gave great recommendations and we never had to ask for a thing. This place reminded me of a spot in Little Italy in SD where there's a shop in the front with a restaurant in the back. But this one incorporates it into one. Such a cool concept.

The sandwich we ordered was 25. I think it was worth every bite of onion and bread, I didn’t leave a crumb! I had the most amazing sandwich with an awesome waiter name Alex. I was very sad to find out that Guido had actually passed away around three or so months ago. He was a good man. I already miss him. This place is super fresh, clean and has so many things that you can order and take home to cook. I love the shirts. I love the history... I just don’t understand that how sometimes my reviews just don’t show up. I’ve been coming to this place for over three years. I swear next time I go, I’m going to try a piece of cheesecake that they make in house, it looked so good. I WOULD RECOMMEND

A lovely little restaurant tucked away in a strip mall that’s hiding the door to a step through downtown Chicago. Complete with big city vibes but Scottsdale hospitality, this place really stole our hearts. The food was good, but the freshness was out of this world. We loved that the waiters talked to and knew many regular patrons, and treated us like royalty. We’ll be back for sure!

The Italian sub is very good! For take out, just go to the counter. If you want to eat inside, make sure your whole party is present to be seated. They are very busy, but worth stopping by. They also have a deli counter with meats and cheeses. The parking is shared with other businesses and can be difficult.
